Lucid Air Shatters Guinness Record for Longest EV Range
Lucid has just set a new Guinness World Record for the longest journey by an electric car on a single charge.
This past weekend, an Air Grand Touring sedan covered an incredible 1,205 km without charging, effectively beating the previous record of 1,045 km that was set a month earlier.

What makes the feat even more remarkable is that it involved not only highways and secondary roads but also mountain passes separating St. Moritz, Switzerland and Munich, Germany.

“This range record represents a significant milestone. It’s yet another clear demonstration of the technological edge that defines Lucid,” said Eric Bach, Senior VP of Product and Chief Engineer at Lucid.
With its 112kWh battery, the Lucid Air Grand Touring claims an official range of 960 km according to the WLTP standard, and 824 km according to those used in North America. That means it travelled almost 50 percent further than expected.

Together with @Umit_Sabanci, we have officially set a new Guinness World Records title for the longest journey by an electric car on a single charge. The Lucid Air Grand Touring covered an astonishing 1,205 kilometers (~ 749… pic.twitter.com/2LeayLnjgc
Despite weighing in at over two tons, the car demonstrates exceptional energy efficiency and battery management, as evidenced by its average consumption of 16.4 kWh/100 km according to Natural Resources Canada.
For the purposes of this record-breaking attempt, it obviously didn't exploit all the 819 horsepower at its disposal, nor did it validate its 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.2 seconds or its 270 km/h top speed.

By the way, London-based entrepreneur Umit Sabanci, who was behind the wheel, last year set the record for the most countries visited on a single charge in a production battery electric vehicle—also in a Lucid Air Grand Touring.
“When I completed the nine-country journey in 2024, it was just the beginning,” Sabanci said. “This new achievement takes that journey even further. I’m proud to be part of a movement that proves electric mobility isn’t just the future; it’s already redefining what’s possible today.”
