2026 Infiniti QX80 Adds Darker-Looking Sport Model

Infiniti badly needs new blood for 2026, especially with the imminent discontinuation of the QX50 and QX55 compact SUVs. We already know that the QX60 three-row midsize SUV is getting a major update and will also give birth to a two-row, coupe-style variant called QX65 sometime next year.

As for the QX80 full-size SUV, which was completely redesigned for 2025, the company today announced that a new Sport model joins the lineup.

Forget about improved performance, however. The twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 returns with the same 450 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. Complementing the engine is a nine-speed automatic transmission. Maximum towing capacity is rated at 8,500 lbs when properly equipped.

The 2026 QX80 Sport is all about styling, more specifically a darker appearance. It starts with a new front grille, a restyled front bumper and a unique 22-inch wheel design.

A black finish is applied to the mirror caps, lower bumper, roof rails, emblems and other exterior accents. Of course, these details stand out even more if you choose a body colour other than Mineral Black shown here—Grand Blue, Radiant White or Dynamic Metal, for instance. The latter two can be paired with an Obsidian Black roof for even greater contrast.

Inside, the Dusk Blue colour scheme combines with with dark matte chrome accents, graphite for the headliner and pillars, open-pore wood trim for the instrument panel and doors, and black/blue seat inserts for all three rows including captain’s chairs in the second row. The effect is dramatic yet restrained, as Infiniti puts it.

The Klipsch audio system gets 10 additional speakers for a total of 24. Meanwhile, ProPILOT Assist 1.1 comes standard and combines intelligent cruise control with steering assistance to help the driver stay centered in their lane. Hands-free driving in certain conditions is only possible with ProPILOT Assist 1.2 in the top-line QX80.

Speaking of which, the new QX80 Sport (MSRP starting at $118,995) slots between the Luxe and Autograph, replacing the mid-grade Sensory. All of them are available at Infiniti dealerships now.
