2026 Dodge Durango Puts Focus on V8-Powered R/T Models
Dodge has just announced details of the Durango lineup for the 2026 model year, incredibly the sixteenth of the current generation and perhaps not the last. While parent company Stellantis has confirmed a new generation, no timetable has yet been provided.
The three-row midsize SUV returns with the same three trim levels including GT, R/T and SRT Hellcat.

The base Durango GT continues to rely on the 3.6-litre V6 delivering 295 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The available GT Plus package expands content with 20-inch wheels, Nappa leather seats, a power sunroof, Alpine audio with nine speakers and Trailer Tow group.
The popular Blacktop Redline package is also back for those who want to give their Durango a bit more style, including “red tracer” fender and decklid decals, a performance hood, front and rear SRT spoilers as well as leather and suede SRT performance seats with red stitching.

The mid-grade Durango R/T keeps the venerable 5.7-litre HEMI V8 alive and well, producing 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. It stands out with new 20-inch Satin Carbon wheels, a performance hood, Alpine audio and more.
The Blacktop Redline package is now available with this trim level, again for a darker, racier appearance. Six leather and suede SRT performance seats with red accent stitching, including second-row fold/tumble captain's chairs, are standard.
Tow N Go returns as an optional package for the Durango R/T, with best-in-class available towing capacity of up to 8,700 lbs and black Brembo calipers. It also features SRT performance-tuned steering, widebody flares, high-performance exhaust, electronic limited-slip rear axle and adaptive damping.

A standard Blacktop package remains available for the R/T in a seven-passenger-only seating configuration, featuring blacked-out badging and black roof rails with integrated crossbars. New wheel options, all in a size of 20 inches, round out the updates.
While Canadian pricing has yet to be announced, we can tell you that ordering for 2026 Dodge Durango GT and R/T models will open in June, with vehicles scheduled to start arriving at dealerships before summer is over. Details on the 2026 Durango SRT Hellcat—housing the 710-horsepower, supercharged 6.2-litre HEMI V8—will be shared in the summer, as well.
Dodge is clearly not interested in offering the new twin-turbo 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine a.k.a. Hurricane in the current Durango. Time will tell what the next generation has in store.
