FCA's 5-Year Plan: The new Models

As we mentioned earlier, the 5-year plan presentation is ongoing at FCA. Here are some of the best information tidbits we could gather:

Chrysler

Chrysler will become a mainstream brand, concentrating on regular vehicles (cars and crossovers, mostly).
A new compact, the Chrysler 100, should arrive in 2016.
A new Town & Country will be unveiled, featuring a hybrid (PHEV) version.
The Chrysler minivan will also become the only one in the lineup, since the Grand Caravan will be dropped. More affordable versions of the Town & Country will be offered.
A new midsize crossover is set for 2018.
A bigger, fullsize PHEV crossover will also be launched, arriving somewhere in 2017.
The Chrysler 300 will be redesigned for 2018.

Jeep's business plan is simple: Become number one in worldwide SUV sales. Ambitious!
As we already knew, the Renegade is coming for 2014.
The Patriot and Compass soldier on until 2016, at which point they will be replaced by a new compact SUV.
The Wrangler is set to be refreshed in 2017.
The Cherokee remains with us as is until a minor refresh in 2016.
Being Jeep's best-seller, the Grand Cherokee will have a new look in 2017.
For 2018, The brand will revive the Grand Wagoneer moniker. It will be a Luxury full-size SUV, possibly going up against the Germans' biggest SUVs.

Dodge will finally become a performance brand, sacrificing sales volume for quality, high-powered offerings. That means no more Avengers, and no more Grand Caravan.
A small sub-compact car will hit dealerships in 2018. It will be smaller than the Dart (Dodge Omni, anyone?).
The Dart stays with us until the new-version is shown, sometime in 2016.
A high-performance, SRT version of the Dart is finally official! Coming out in 2016, it will feature a turbocharged engine, and will make use of an all-wheel drive system. This could be a worthy competitor to the Subaru WRX.
The Journey will be updated in 2016, and it will boast an SRT version (turbocharged and AWD).
The Charger and Challenger SRT will be equipped with a new 6.2 L supercharged HEMI.
The Viper is now back into Dodge's lineup.
