2014 GMC Sierra Denali Offers Pair Of Engine Choices

GMC has released the details on the upcoming Denali edition of the 2014 GMC Sierra.  The luxury version of the full-size pickup will feature some changes to its drivetrain mix as well as deliver high end features not available in any other version of the vehicle.

The biggest news is the bump in power under the Sierra Denali's hood.  Instead of providing a mega-powerful base engine exclusive to the model, as in years past, the new Denali will come standard with a 355 horsepower, 5.3-liter V8 that is also available with standard versions of the Sierra, as well as the Chevrolet Silverado.  Extra grunt will be offered in the form of an optional 6.2-liter V8 that generates 420 horses and 450 lb-ft of torque.  These figures represent the mightiest rating ever afforded the GMC Sierra Denali, but again, this motor will be available with the Sierra SLT, which is a departure for the truck maker.

Other goodies that come with the 2014 GMC Sierra Denali include a towing capacity of 5,454 kilos (6.2-liter V8),  heated and cooled leather seats, LED running lights, a heated steering wheels, and a navigation system.  Buyers will be able to select a Z71 Off-Road package to give four-wheel drive versions of the truck additional capabilities not seen in older Denali models.
