This Special New GMC Canyon AT4 Will Take You Even Farther Off-Road

All GMC models are now available in AT4 trim for a more rugged look and increased capability away from the beaten paths. Pickup owners who want to go even farther with the Canyon will soon have a 2021 Off-Road Performance Edition to choose.

“When customers are looking for a capable off-road truck, we know that they want improved vehicle height as well as additional protection,” said GMC Marketing Director Rich Latek. “The Canyon AT4 Off-Road Performance Edition provides an improved approach angle, enhanced maneuverability and underbody protection to key parts of the truck, while still delivering a premium GMC experience.”

As a refresher, the GMC Canyon AT4 stands out from other Canyon models with 31-inch Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires, an off-road tuned suspension package, advanced hill descent control and a four-wheel drive system using an Eaton G80 automatic locking rear differential.

The Canyon AT4 Off-Road Performance Edition benefits from a suspension leveling kit and the removal of the front air dam to increase the truck’s approach angle by more than 35 percent to nearly 30 degrees.

Next, there are rocker panel protectors as well as performance front and mid skid plates made from sturdy, 5/32-inch aluminum around the lower radiator, front differential, steering gear and oil pan. This is in addition to the transfer case shield standard on the Canyon AT4.

When it comes to styling, unique 17-inch Gloss Black wheels are the main highlight, but don’t miss the Gloss Black performance exhaust tip and the Carbon Black AT4 logos. Extra protection for the interior and the truck bed is provided in the form of accessory floor liners and spray-in bedliner.

The 2021 GMC Canyon AT4 Off-Road Performance Edition will be available to order in the U.S. later this year. At the time of writing, details for the Canadian market remained unspecified.
