On certain vehicles equipped with power-adjustable seat with position memory function, the seat wiring harness may be subject to chafe damage.

As a result the covering of the seat harness may become damaged, allowing the core wire of the harness to contact a bracket and cause an electrical short-circuit.

In the worst case, certain functions such as seat position, height adjustment and seatback reclining may be activated unexpectedly and be uncontrollable.

Should this occur while the vehicle is in motion, it could result in a vehicle crash causing property damage, personal injury or death.

Correction: Dealers will inspect and secure the seat harness as required.

If necessary, the harness covering will be repaired or the harness will be replaced.
