Electric Dodge Charger Teased Ahead of Official Debut
Dodge has just posted the first official pictures of its upcoming, battery-electric muscle car, which is heavily based on the hot Charger Daytona SRT concept shown in August 2022.
The company says the car is a pre-production model and will be available late in 2024, as initially planned.

Styling is pretty similar to the concept and retains a two-door coupe profile. The headlight and grille combination appears to be slightly different, the side mirrors are larger and production-ready, while the wheels and door handles have a more classic design this time around.
On the picture showing the rear end of the car, we can see that the charging port is located on the left fender. Also, there’s a large spoiler atop the trunk—arguably the biggest change from the concept. The taillights look a bit different, too, obviously for production purposes. Oh, and a closer look reveals the “DAYTONA” name embossed on the bumper.
Now, we don’t see any logos or badges anywhere on the pictures, so it’s impossible to tell which model or trim level we’re actually looking at. Remember, Dodge has said that as many as nine output levels will be available, ranging from 456 horsepower to nearly 900 horsepower (with a so-called Fratzonic sound system that can reproduce a 126-decibel exhaust note, comparable to that of a Hellcat V8).
That’s for the electric Charger. The company has hinted that an ICE-powered variant will be sold alongside the EV, likely to feature Stellantis’ twin-turbocharged inline six-cylinder a.k.a. “Hurricane.” And we know that this engine can generate up to 540 horsepower.
Look for the production model to be introduced before the summer, with early reservations to begin at around the same time.
