Bug-Filled Chevrolet Blazer EV Hit With Stop-Sale Order in the U.S.
Deliveries of the all-new Chevrolet Blazer EV to U.S. customers began in late summer, but things have definitely not gone according to plan due to numerous problems and bugs with the vehicle.
As a matter of fact, the company released a stop-sale order last Friday to fix a software-related quality issue affecting what it called "a limited number" of units. Those vehicles are currently in transit or sitting on dealership lots south of the border.

To be clear, we’re not talking about a safety-related issue. In most cases, the problems can be found on the screens, but they’ve also occurred during or after charging attempts at DC fast chargers.
While The Car Guide didn’t experience any electronic or software issues during our first two test drives of the Blazer EV, others weren’t so lucky.
Edmunds purchased their Blazer EV less than two months ago for a long-term review and has so far experienced 23 different problems—"the single longest list of major faults we at Edmunds have ever seen on a new car." With only 1,600 miles (2,600 km) on the odometer, the vehicle has been at the dealer for more than two weeks now, waiting for repairs.
Meanwhile, a fellow writer at InsideEVs was left stranded on the side of the road when his Chevy-loaned tester broke down during an Electrify America charging session.
The Blazer EV is scheduled to arrive in Canadian dealerships next month or in early February. From what we’ve seen, the midsize electric crossover has what it takes to challenge the Ford Mustang Mach-E and Tesla Model Y, provided that quality and reliability are up to par. Let’s hope Chevrolet will be able to quickly address these issues so that they don’t become a nightmare for customers—and apply lessons to the upcoming Equinox EV, Silverado EV and more.
