2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Gets Bolder With the XRT Model

With the growing popularity of more "rugged" versions in the crossover world, the trend for blackened accents all around has also gained traction.

Hyundai has just unveiled the XRT variant of the 2022 Santa Fe, and this variation sports a more daring look, with said accents, appliqués and blackened components which aim to give more character to a Santa Fe which is dedicated mostly driving around for family chores.

Some automakers make their rugged models a bit more rigged than others. For example, the Subaru Outback Wilderness goes well beyond the aesthetic elements with higher ground clearance and a suspension dialled for off-road, among other things. Others take a more conservative approach, trading surface elements like trim and wheels to give the vehicle more bite on the surface. This XRT version of the Santa Fe 2022 belongs to that category, with a more aesthetic transformation.

The Santa Fe XRT receives a grille in matte black colour with front and rear lower bumper mouldings in the same colour. Front and rear skid plates have been installed to keep vital organs safe from obstacles on the trail. Bottom door mouldings, side steps, mirror caps and roof rails are also painted black. Finally, a set of 18-inch black rims completes the look.

The Hyundai Santa Fe has received quite the update for 2021. It is offered with a choice of three engines, including two 2.5-liter engines (atmospheric and turbo) as well as a hybrid model based on a 1.6-litre turbo. The XRT variant is not offered with the hybrid engine.
