2019 Toyota C-HR Offers More Features and New Base Trim

For its second year on the Canadian market, the funky subcompact crossover gets a new LE trim that will be priced at a more affordable level, and will offer new features as well.

The 2019 Toyota C-HR LE receives an Entune 3.0 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay integration (sorry, Android users), an eight-inch touchscreen in which the rearview camera display has been relocated, a windshield de-icer and 17-inch wheels with covers. However, it doesn’t include the previously standard heated front seats, power lumbar support and leather-wrapped wheel.

The XLE and XLE Premium trims soldier on, but get the new Entune interface, while a Limited variant is also added with black or brown leather upholstery, ambient lighting and rain-sensing windshield wipers. The two uplevel trims get new two-tone paint colour options with a black roof, while the Radiant Green/white roof combo has been ditched.

As before, every C-HR is equipped with a front-wheel drivetrain, a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that develops 144 horsepower and 139 pound-feet of torque as well as a continuously variable automatic transmission.

Base price is set at $23,675 for the C-HR LE, before freight and delivery charges—making the crossover $1,075 more affordable than the 2018 model. The XLE is priced at $25,725 while the XLE Premium stands at $27,325. The C-HR Limited is offered from $28,775.

The 2019 Toyota C-HR is now on sale.
