TVR Is Back

The TVR name might not mean a lot to most of us on the left side of the Atlantic, but the English manufacturer built its reputation by building hardcore sports cars. Started in 1947, TVR created a bunch of iconic coupes that put driving pleasure ahead of everything else: from the Griffith to the Vixen, the Cerbera and the Sagaris, each model was a success for the brand’s fans. However, in the last decade, TVR closed up shop, victim of incompetent management.

It seems that the brand is about to rise from its ashes; its new owners (who bought the brand 2 years ago) announced that 4 new models are coming.

They will all be sports car powered by Ford or GM V8 engines; said engines will then be massaged by Cosworth to produce more than 450 horsepower. A six-speed manual gearbox will come standard.

These new TVRs should start at 60,000 pounds (about $90,000). We hope that the brand will consider exporting their cars here this time.
