Audi Leads BMW in 2014 Sales

Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz have been locked in fierce competition for years, battling for worldwide luxury supremacy. Mercedes is currently a few car lengths behind the other two which were separated by just 383 units worldwide in 2013. BMW has held the top spot for the last nine years.

For the first two months of 2014, Audi has actually surpassed BMW, claiming to have sold 242,400 vehicles. 242,017 Bimmers and 229,630 Mercedes-Benz vehicles were sold during the same period.

Audi is part of the Volkswagen group that is striving to become the world’s number one automaker. They currently sit in 3nd place behind GM and the 2013 sales leader, Toyota.

The numbers could very easily change over the course of 2014 but being ahead at this stage looks very good for Audi. They’ll have to fend off BMW which plans several new model releases this year.
