2014 Chevy Camaro Z28 Laps the Nurburgring in 7:37!

Chevrolet uploaded a video on YouTube showing the 2014 Camaro Z28 lapping the famous German race track. The time is faster than the newest Porsche 911 Carrera S, Lamborghini Murcielago, Ferrari F430 Scuderia, Ferrari 458, Porsche 911 GT3 and the Lexus LFA.

The new Camaro Z28’s 7.0L V8 engine has 500 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque and has a Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual transmission and a standard limited-slip differential.

In order to keep the weight down, Chevrolet removed the A/C, used thinner glass in the rear windows, removed electric seats, removed sound insulation among of a variety of other measures. The result is about 100 lb weight savings over the Camaro SS.
