The New Honda Civic Wagovan?

Honda plans to reveal an updated version of the famous Wagovan from the 1980s at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month. Called the Civic Tourer, it’s being developed by Honda’s European design studio and will be a five-door “no-compromise” alternative to the conventional Honda Civic sedan.

“I am very proud of the Civic Tourer’s sporty, sleek and dynamic proportions, which somewhat hide the car’s true functionality and versatility,” says, Adrian Killham, Civic Tourer’s project leader according to a report by thedetroitbureau.com.

The Civic Tourer will seek to maximize cargo space, offering 624 Litres in normal configuration and 1668 litres with the rear seats folded down.

Buyers will have the choice between Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology 1.6-liter i-DTEC diesel engine and the more familiar 1.8-liter i-VTEC gas engine.

For the first time on a production Honda, an Adaptive Damper System will be available. The rear-mounted system allows Comfort, Normal and Dynamic settings.
“By introducing the technology in this format, we expect many customers will be able to experience the benefits of this advanced system,” Killham goes on to say.
