2013 Toyota RAV4: At last!

Even if it keeps the previous model’s platform (although improved according to the project’s chief engineer), the new Rav4 is different enough to be considered as a new generation.

A single engine is found under the hood of all new Rav4s. It is a 2.5 litre four-cylinder that develops 176 horsepower at 6000 rpm and delivers 172 lbs-ft of torque at 4100 rpm. A new six-speed automatic transmission sends that power to either the front wheels, or to all four in the AWD versions.

The new Rav4 is more of an evolution than a revolution.  Seen here in Montreal for the very first time in Canada, it will be sold in more than 150 countries.
