And the awards for North-American car and truck of the year go to...

It’s a tradition.  The Detroit Auto Show opens with the nominations for two of the world’s most prestigious awards, the North American Car of the Year and the North American Truck of the Year. Last year, the Hyundai Elantra and the Range Rover Evoque shared the honours.
For the 2013 edition, jury members had to choose the best car amongst three finalists: the Cadillac ATS, the Ford Fusion and the Honda Accord.  And

the winner is:
1.    Cadillac ATS: 207 points
2.    Honda Accord: 159 points
3.    Ford Fusion: 124 points

As for the award for North American Truck of the Year, three contenders were in the running for the honours: the Ford C-Max, the Mazda CX-5 and the Ram 1500 pick-up truck.

The winner is:
1.    RAM 1500 : 261 points
2.    Mazda CX-5: 142 points
3.    Ford C-Max:  87 points
