2013 Land Rover Range Rover, a new leaner generation

Land Rover takes advantage of the Montreal Auto Show to stage the Canadian premiere of the all-new Range Rover.  The fourth generation receives an all-new design that builds on the genes of its predecessor.

The most noteworthy change is a weight reduction of about 250 kg, the manufacturer now using an all-aluminum chassis where steel was found before.  The new platform also inaugurates the 2nd generation of the famous Terrain Response system, the interface through which the driver has the computer selecting the appropriate settings for an optimal off-road experience.

The Range is still powered by a supercharged 5.0 litre V8, now teamed up with a new 8-speed automatic transmission.  Inside, the traditional British ambiance of fine woods and leathers is streamlined thanks to a new touch-screen interface that replaces many control buttons.
