Bentley Continental GT Speed cabriolet: A guided tour from Detroit

Starting last year Bentley made many changes to its Continental GT Coupe and Cabriolet models.

It all started with the Continental GT Coupe closely followed a few months later by the Cabriolet GTC.

To everyone’s surprise, Bentley included the equally powerful yet somewhat less expensive GT and GTC V8 models.

Following in the footsteps, the Continental GT Speed Coupe was next in line and, today, it is now the turn of the Continental GT Speed to make a public debut on the net.

As for the Coupe unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Cabriolet also receives a more mature albeit somewhat more aggressive front end.

The most powerful Bentley

Until now, the most powerful Bentley produced 621 horsepower. The more potent Continental GT Speed eclipses all that.

Be it Cabriolet or Coupe, both produce 625 horsepower with an impressive 590 lb-ft of torque from their massive W12 48 valve bi-turbo engine.

Completing the powertrain is a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission.

Bentley completes the package with revised firmer suspension settings and 21-inch wheels.

Performance wise the Bentley Continental GT Speed Cabriolet reaches 100 km/h in a brief 4.2 seconds with a top speed of 322 km/h.

All GT Speed models are all-wheel drive.

The Bentley Continental GT Speed Cabriolet debuts at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
