April 17, 1964 is a significant date in the history of the automobile. That’s when Ford introduced the iconic Mustang. 

With baby boomers changing the automotive market, Lee Iacocca imagined a new car using as many existing parts as possible in order to reduce costs. The Mustang immediately became a hit and reached one million units sold as early as March 1966.
