Porsche 911 GT3 RS Finally Unveiled In Geneva

It finally happened; after being unwittingly unveiled multiple times, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS has finally been launched by the manufacturer itself.

And it was worth the wait.

To differentiate it from the regular GT3, Stuttgart's most recent offering receives a magnesium roof, a carbon fibre-reinforced hood and trunk, more cooling vents, a lower front lip, a carbon rear diffuser, a ducktail spoiler integrated into the trunk lid and a huge rear wing designed to offer more aerodynamics at high speed.

Speaking of speed, the 911 GT3 RS comes standard with a brand-new 4-litre flat-six engine. Even without the use of any kind of turbos or supercharger, this mill makes 500 horsepower. Paired with a seven-speed PDK gearbox and a variable locking differential, the GT3 RS can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, hit 200 km/h in 10.9 seconds, and will eventually reach 322 km/h. Porsche also points out that the car can lap the infamous Nurburgring in 7 minutes and 20 seconds.

Pricing for North America has yet to be announced, but the Porsche 911 GT3 RS sold in Germany is worth the equivalent of $250,000, so we can expect prices to be around that number.
