The X5 was among the first luxury SUVs to combine comfort, cargo capacity and performance. Today, the BMW X5 and its more athletic-looking comrade, the X6, are among the bestselling midsize SUVs in North America. A plug-in hybrid version of the X5, the xDrive40e, is also available.
