Mazda’s 2026 Models Are Coming At Last, Starting With CX-30

With the decision to extend production of 2025 models for Canada due to the trade and political disruptions facing the automotive industry, and also to give its dealers more time to sell off their current stock without having to resort to discounts, Mazda is making shoppers across the country wait for the 2026 models.

Things are about to change, however, and the fun-to-drive Mazda CX-30—still manufactured in Mexico and therefore exempt from countertariffs on U.S.-made vehicles—is leading the way. Orders for 2026 are now open, and we can tell you what’s new.

First of all, while maintaining i-Activ all-wheel drive as standard, each 2026 CX-30 receives upgraded dampers for improved ride quality as well as a limited-slip differential that enhances traction and stability in various conditions.

In the middle of the lineup, Mazda adds a Kuro Edition to the CX-30 GS. This new model is distinguished by black roof rails, black fenders, gloss black Mazda badges and 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels. The interior features grey suede-like trim, light-grey stitching and white leatherette seats accented by grey cloth inserts.

Content also includes a power glass moonroof, 10-way power driver's seat with lumbar support, 2-position memory settings, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, advanced keyless entry and exterior mirrors with reverse tilt-down. Let’s not forget Cruise and Traffic Support, which provides steering and speed assist in stop-and-go conditions for easier commutes.

Similar to the entry-level GX and GS models, the GS Kuro Edition uses Mazda's naturally aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine, except this time it delivers 186 horsepower (not 191 horsepower as in 2025) and 186 lb-ft of torque via a six-speed automatic transmission.

Want extra performance? The same Kuro treatment can also be applied to the top-line CX-30 GT with an available 2.5-litre turbo engine, which boosts output to 250 horsepower and torque to 320 lb-ft using premium gasoline (227 hp and 310 lb-ft with regular gasoline). This model replaces the Suna Edition, which is not returning.
