All-New 2027 Kia Seltos Teased Ahead of Imminent Reveal
The second-generation Kia Seltos will make its debut very soon. The world premiere is scheduled for December 10, and the company has a few teasers to whet our appetite.
Remember, Kia's subcompact SUV was initially launched for the 2021 model year and then updated in 2024. The new one will launch in Canada next year as a 2027 model.

From what we can see, the complete redesign of the Seltos draws inspiration from the 2026 Sportage and 2027 Telluride, meaning a boxier silhouette and a revised grille that conveys a greater sense of robustness. Admittedly, the current Seltos isn't the most handsome crossover when viewed from up front.
Kia says the exterior also borrows design cues from some of its electric vehicles, most notably the 2027 EV5, which will arrive at dealerships this spring. Examples include the signature of the headlights and taillights, the geometric wheel pattern, the flush-mounted door handles and the way the rear side windows connect with the liftgate. The floating-style roof is once again finished with a rear spoiler for a sporty touch.
We can expect the new Seltos to adopt slightly larger dimensions, too. It is already one of the most spacious and practical SUVs in its class in terms of cargo capacity.
Incidentally, the company isn't showing any part of the interior at the moment, but it promises a lot of character and a design where technology takes centre stage. Look for a redesigned digital interface and controls, not to mention enhanced connectivity and security features.
As for engine selection, it remains to be seen whether both the naturally aspirated 2.0-litre four-cylinder (146 horsepower) and the turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder (195 horsepower) will return. A hybrid option is expected to be added to the lineup, but will it be available in Canada?
