2026 Porsche 911 Lineup Expands With Three AWD Models
Most customers in Canada who choose the S variants of the Porsche 911 historically opt for all-wheel drive. Well, good news: with the new Carrera 4S, Carrera 4S Cabriolet and Targa 4S, the company is doubling the number of AWD models for 2026, bringing the total to six.
The three cars adopt the upgraded drive system of the Carrera S. The twin-turbo 3.0-litre six-cylinder boxer engine now produces 473 horsepower, an increase of 30 horsepower. This is partly the result of an optimized intercooler system, the design of which is carried over from the 911 Turbo.

As with previous models, the clutch assembly in the front differential, which is still water-cooled, is controlled electromechanically. Only the gear ratio has been slightly adjusted. An eight-speed dual-clutch transmission (PDK) sends power to all four wheels.
According to Porsche, the 911 Carrera 4S accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds (with Sport Chrono Package) and reaches a top speed of 308 km/h.

Better Equipped, Too
The new 2026 Porsche 911 models with all-wheel drive also pack more standard equipment. This includes 20/21-inch staggered-fitment Carrera S wheels with an updated design, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV+) and a sports exhaust system.
The braking system is carried over from the GTS models, with red brake calipers and 408mm discs at the front and 380mm discs at the rear. The 911 Targa 4S features rear-wheel steering as standard.

The leather-clad interior comes standard with rear seats in the Cabriolet and Targa, but not the coupe. A rear seat system can be configured at no extra cost, however. Matrix LED headlights and wireless smartphone charging are also included as standard.
Also part of the mix are power folding exterior mirrors with surround lighting, the Light Design Package, automatically dimming interior and exterior mirrors with integrated rain sensor, and lane departure warning.
