Ram Extends Powertrain Warranty in the U.S., Leaves Out Canada
Ram is taking the bull (or ram?) by the horns as it tries to lure back customers that left the brand over the past year or two. In fact, the company has a new tagline—"Nothing Stops Ram.”
After adding a low-price model called Express and bringing back the popular 5.7-litre HEMI V8 to the Ram 1500 lineup for 2026, not to mention a return to NASCAR in the Truck Series, Ram is now announcing an extension of its limited powertrain warranty. But there’s a catch.

All 2026 model-year Ram trucks and vans (excluding full battery-electric vehicles) sold in the U.S. will be backed for 10 years or 100,000 miles—unmatched in the full-size truck segment. The current powertrain warranty was 5 years or 60,000 miles (gas models), aligning with Ford and General Motors, or 5 years and 100,000 miles (diesel models).

“Everything is more expensive, and trucks are certainly no exception. Truck buyers are financing purchases for longer periods of time, with nearly 80% of new truck loans exceeding five years,” CEO Tim Kuniskis said. “Our customers are making a long-term investment in Ram, and with America’s best full-size truck limited powertrain warranty, Ram is making a stronger and longer commitment to our customers.”
The new limited powertrain warranty applies to the engine, transmission, transfer case, driveshafts, differentials and axles. It’s offered for retail purchases and leases to individuals and businesses, but excludes fleet purchases.

Unfortunately, this announcement is specific to the U.S. for the moment and leaves out Canada, as confirmed to The Car Guide by a Stellantis Canada spokesperson. North of the border, Ram will continue to back every vehicle with a 5-year/100,000-km powertrain warranty. Could that change in the future? Never say never. Isn’t that right, Mr. Kuniskis?
The new warranty is part of the company’s planned 25 product announcements over the next 18 months. Stay in touch for more Ram news.
