Mitsubishi Recalls 68,000 Outlanders for All Too Common Problem
Did you think the week was going to end without some automaker announcing a recall that involves rearview cameras? Well, think again.
Mitsubishi has to recall a bit more than 68,000 units of the 2022-2024 Outlander and 2023-2025 Outlander PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid) in Canada because some of them may experience a software problem that could cause the rearview camera image not to appear on the display screen.

A similar recall was issued in 2023, covering only about 8,000 units at the time. Unfortunately, vehicles that have already been repaired are being recalled again. The company says that a second repair is required.

This is not a hardware problem, mind you, rather an electronic issue. Mitsubishi dealers will simply have to update the infotainment system software.
To be clear, the gas-powered 2025 Outlander, which has just received a series of upgrades, is not affected. Previous recalls for this generation of the Japanese compact SUV were all aimed at the 2022 Outlander and 2023 Outlander PHEV.
