Upcoming Ford F-150 Lobo Caught Undisguised Before Official Debut
Ford is indeed set to launch a sportier-looking, sharper-handling F-150 called Lobo, as various reports first indicated in the summer of 2023.
Spy photographers have recently caught as many as nine completely undisguised prototypes on the road. The pictures can be seen on Motor1, among other publications.

The F-150 Lobo will feature a unique front fascia including a revised lower bumper and larger-mesh grille. A subtle body kit is complemented by huge 22-inch wheels in a black finish mounted on Bridgestone Alenza all-season tires, so it doesn’t exactly have a slammed look. The Lobo name appears on the front fender trim, while dual tailpipes can be found in the rear.
Unfortunately, there are no shots of the interior and no details about the powertrain yet. The cabin, by the way, will be the SuperCrew with four full-size doors. We believe the Lobo could inherit the F-150 Raptor's high-output 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6, which generates 450 horsepower. Also, look for a recalibrated suspension delivering a firmer ride.
In all likelihood, this latest addition to the F-150 lineup will arrive as a 2026 model. An official debut could take place sooner rather than later.
Ford helped popularize the street truck genre with the F-150 SVT Lightning back in 1993-1995 and then from 1999-2004. Since the Lightning moniker now applies to the battery-electric F-150, the company had to turn to Lobo (not to be confused with premium variants of the F-150 sold in Mexico).
Don’t forget, there’s a sporty Maverick Lobo for 2025, too. We got the opportunity to take it for a spin during a media event in California earlier this spring, so make sure you read our first-drive impressions.
