2026 Toyota Corolla Cross Shows New Mug, Gets Larger Display
The popular Toyota Corolla Cross receives an update for the 2026 model year including a new front fascia, redesigned centre console and larger touchscreen.
The first thing you’ll notice, obviously, is the newly styled grille and front bumper combination. The gas-powered variant is more rugged-looking, while the hybrid is classier with colour-matched elements and draws inspiration from the Crown Signia.

The sleek new Cavalry Blue shown here is available on LE and XLE models. The Corolla Cross Hybrid (SE and XSE) can be specified with that colour and a Jet Black roof for a two-tone exterior. Two new 18-inch wheel designs are also available, either in a grey metallic finish with machined accents or in a gloss black finish.
When it comes to the cabin, which you can order in elegant Portobello trim (XLE models), the revised centre console maximizes storage space, while the touchscreen in several models grows from 8 inches to 10.25 inches. The gauge cluster offers a 7- or 12.3-inch display depending on the trim level.

Additionally, rear heated seats will now be standard on XLE AWD and Hybrid XSE models, keeping the kids warm on chilly morning drives to school or hockey practice.
A Better Fate Than Mazda CX-50
That’s pretty much it as far as changes to the 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross. As a reminder, the 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine generates 169 hp and claims an average fuel consumption of 7.4 or 7.8 L/100 km depending on your choice of FWD or AWD, while the hybrid system delivers 196 hp and needs just 5.6 L/100 km of fuel.

What’s more, all models benefit from the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite of safety and driving assistance features, including pre-collision braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning with steering assist, and road sign recognition. XLE and XSE models add front and rear parking assist with automatic braking.
Unlike the Mazda CX-50, which is built at the same plant down in Alabama, the Corolla Cross will continue to be imported despite the counter-tariffs on US-made vehicles imposed by Ottawa. Toyota Canada says it will go on sale later in 2025, without being more specific. Prices have yet to be announced and could increase accordingly, mind you. We’ll keep you posted.
