2026 Audi A6 Sedan Debuts With Sleek New Shape, V6 Only
Hot on the heels of the A6 Avant wagon, which The Car Guide recently got the opportunity to test drive on the roads of Portugal, the new generation of Audi’s midsize car today debuts in classic four-door sedan configuration.
The pictures you see here show the European model, but the 2026 Audi A6 that will be sold in Canada shouldn’t change that much.

Gas and Electric Variants Sold Alongside
As mentioned in our previous stories, the new A6 will continue to be called just that since the company has decided to sell it alongside the fully electric A6 e-tron. Styling is similar, although the two cars aren’t really twins. Once again, we’re smitten by the sharp character lines and headlight signature.

What's more, the conventionally powered sedan not only looks more aggressive than its predecessor, but it also boasts a drag coefficient of just 0.23, making it more aerodynamic than any gas-burning Audi to date.
New Platform, Only One Engine for Canada
The 2026 Audi A6 is built on the same Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) as the redesigned 2025 A5 and Q5. The suspension has been improved and, as an option, customers can benefit from a sport suspension with firmer settings or an air suspension that maximizes the balance between comfort and agility.

By the way, this new A6 sedan is about 6.5 cm longer than before while riding on an almost identical wheelbase. The wheels range from 19-21 inches in size.
Under the hood, forget about the 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine. The sedan coming to Canada will rely exclusively on the turbocharged 3.0-litre V6, which now generates 362 hp (up from 335) and 369 lb-ft of torque. A seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and quattro all-wheel drive will be standard, too. Plug-in hybrid models have been announced for Europe but may not make the trip across the Atlantic. We’ll see.

Digital Cabin
Inside, Audi’s so-called “Digital Stage” unsurprisingly returns, combining an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster with a 14.5-inch touchscreen and an available passenger-side screen. Added to this is a configurable head-up display, plus ambient lighting and four-zone climate control. For the ultimate audio experience, there’s an available 20-speaker Bang & Olufsen system.

What else is new? Well, material quality has been improved, the cabin is 30 percent quieter than before, and the panoramic glass roof can be darkened in sections according to occupant preference. Behind the 40/20/40 split rear seat, the trunk can swallow up to 492 litres of luggage and can be opened with a sweep of the foot under the bumper.
The 2026 Audi A6 sedan is expected to go on sale in Canada by the end of this year. As our colleague Gabriel Gélinas recently wrote, the A6 Avant wagon will sadly be staying away from North America despite the relative success of the outgoing RS 6 Avant and the A6 allroad.
