Future Toyota Electric Pickup to Launch in Europe in 2026
At Toyota’s annual product strategy event last week in Brussels, the Japanese automaker announced it will introduce six new battery electric vehicles in Europe by the end of next year, plus another three from its luxury brand Lexus.
We’ve already told you about the significantly upgraded Toyota bZ4X, which is expected to land on our shores late in 2025 as a 2026 model. Two others include the highly attractive C-HR+ and the small, city-friendly Urban Cruiser.

What about the rest? They’ll make their debut at a later date. However, Toyota did tease all three in the form of silhouetted figures on a black slide. As you can see below, two are SUVs (including possibly a three-row model), but the third is the much-anticipated electric pickup that the company has been hinting at for a while.

It’s a bit hard to speculate, but as far as we can tell, this vehicle looks more like a Tacoma, similar to the one that was part of 16 electric concepts announced back in December 2021:

More recently, Toyota introduced another concept called EPU (Electric Pick-up) at the Japan Mobility Show in October 2023. The compact-sized truck signaled a potential rival of the Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz, with unibody construction, a four-door crew cab and a wheelbase of 3,350 mm. Except maybe for the interior, it actually looked like it could enter production in the near future.

Whichever path Toyota chooses to follow, we believe its electric pickup would appeal to many customers here in North America, provided that production takes place in the U.S. in order to avoid any tariffs.
