Kia Takes Comical Jab at Tesla’s Elon Musk While Promoting All-New EV3
Anger and shame towards Elon Musk and Tesla in general have been building steadily since last November's presidential election in the U.S., not only in North America but also in the rest of the world. Boycotts, masked logos, inflammatory posts on social media, acts of vandalism targeting Tesla cars, Superchargers and even factories—a lot of people, including owners, are openly protesting against the company and its CEO.
You’ve probably seen those “I bought this before Elon went crazy” stickers that some Tesla owners are putting on their rear bumpers. Well, Kia did something similar in recent days while promoting its all-new EV3.

An Instagram post by the automaker’s Norwegian division (where Teslas rule the roads) showed the back of an EV3 with a sticker that said “I bought this after Elon went crazy.”

The post has seen been deleted, but not before a few users managed to capture it and react to the joke. As you can imagine, many Tesla and Musk fans didn’t think it was funny at all. On the other hand, it’s just as easy to find people who appreciated the soft jab.
Whichever side you’re on, the fact is that Tesla’s sales and stock value are falling fast right now, while Kia’s EV business is sailing.

The little EV3 will land in Canada early next year as a 2026 model. The Car Guide’s Antoine Joubert and Gabriel Gélinas have both had the opportunity to drive it already, and they were highly impressed from the get-go, saying the EV3 compares favourably to even the Volvo EX30. Maximum range with the larger battery should exceed 500 km based on North American test cycles, which sounds terrific.
Last month at the 2025 Kia EV Day in Tarragona, Spain, the company unveiled the EV2 Concept and officially introduced the new EV4 sedan and PV5 van. You can check them out and read about them by clicking on the link.
