Polestar Lineup Turned Into Rally Cars for the Arctic Circle
Polestar is following up on that Polestar 2 Arctic Circle concept we got to test drive on a snow-covered track at Mecaglisse in Notre-Dame-de-la-Merci, Quebec two years ago.
With the Swedish electric car company having two new models in its lineup, namely the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 crossovers, a similar treatment was in order. The trio of Arctic Circle one-off vehicles will make their public debut this Saturday at the FAT Ice Race in Zell am See, Austria.

“The Arctic Circle collection illustrates our unique performance DNA, rooted in motorsport and combined with Scandinavian design,” Polestar CEO Michael Lohscheller says. “We develop our cars under challenging conditions within the Arctic Circle in Sweden, and at the FAT Ice Race we will showcase that on ice there is nothing better than a Polestar. We are really excited to be part of this special event with our full model line-up, where it’s all about car culture and the performance experience.”

All three concepts benefit from increased ground clearance (20-40 mm depending on the model) with custom 3-way adjustable Öhlins dampers, specialized Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus studded tires and OZ Racing wheels. They also feature quad LED Stedi spotlights up front and Recaro Pole Position bucket seats inside.
A few accessories are thrown into the mix, as well, such as ski mounts on the Polestar 2 and 4 and a large roof basket on the Polestar 3. Let’s not forget to mention the rally-style mud flaps (or snow flaps) and the recovery hooks at both ends.

Polestar has no intention to greenlight these concepts for production, unlike what Ford has done with the Mustang Mach-E Rally. However, the lineup will expand over the next few years with a performance four-door GT (Polestar 5), a roadster (Polestar 6) and a small SUV (Polestar 7).
