You Should Avoid the Front Passenger Seat in Some Toyota Corolla Crosses
The Toyota Corolla Cross is one of the best sub-compact crossovers on the market, and a smart purchase for a small family with a budget of $30,000. The recent addition of a hybrid variant makes it even more compelling.
However, we have some bad news to report today. The automaker is recalling nearly 110,000 non-hybrid units covering the 2022-2023 model years in North America, including 13,806 in Canada. The problem is fairly serious.

The passenger-side front airbag may not deploy properly in the event of a crash. A manufacturing error in the dashboard is said to be the reason why.
Given the increased risk of injury or even death, Toyota is recommending users not to sit in the front passenger seat of affected models until a repair is performed.
The information we have so far is unclear about whether people have been injured as a direct result of a faulty airbag in the Corolla Cross. Toyota has not commented on the situation.
