2023 Hyundai IONIQ 6 to Start at $54,999 in Canada

Hyundai has just announced Canadian pricing details for the highly anticipated IONIQ 6 electric sedan, which our team at The Car Guide named the “Best New Car of the Year” due to its striking design and exceptional capabilities.

As reported earlier this year, all IONIQ 6 models sold in Canada will feature the larger 77.4kWh battery, unlike the U.S.-spec variants and the IONIQ 5 crossover, which are also available with a 58kWh battery.

The single-motor IONIQ 6 Preferred RWD (225 hp, 258 lb-ft.) carries a starting price of $54,999 plus $1,925 freight and delivery. It’s the one that can travel up to 581 km with a full charge according to Natural Resources Canada estimates—even better than the Tesla Model 3.

Next up is the dual-motor IONIQ 6 Preferred AWD (320 hp, 446 lb-ft.), which starts at $57,999 and offers up to 509 km of range. If you select the Ultimate Package, which adds a few luxury items and replaces the standard 18-inch wheels by a set of distinctive 20-inch alloys, prepare to pay another $6,000 and get 435 km of range.

All three IONIQ 6 models are eligible to the $5,000 EV rebate from the federal government, plus provincial incentives of up to $7,000 where applicable.

As a refresher, the IONIQ 6 is built on Hyundai’s e-GMP platform and its 800V technology allows the battery to charge from 10-80 percent in just 18 minutes when plugged into a 350kW DC fast charger. Also, thanks to V2L (Vehicle to Load) technology, it can power various devices or even charge another EV if necessary.

Standard content across the lineup includes a battery pre-heater and charge prep, power trunk, heated steering wheel and front seats, as well as several advanced safety and driver assistance features. A pair of 12.3-inch displays with navigation highlight the interior. Bluelink connected services for three years are part of the deal, too.

The first units of the 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 6 are scheduled to arrive in Canada this spring.
