SAAQclic: New Online Services Available in February

Starting February 23, 2023, the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) will launch a new simplified online service system: SAAQclic.

On this portal, Quebecers will be able to safely access new services related to their vehicle registration, driver’s licence, vehicle information, driving record, state of health and appointments.

What Services Exactly?

As the SAAQ says on their website, more than twenty different services will be available to the public via SAAQclic in the next year.

It will be possible to consult, void or replace a driver’s licence, check its validity, and change a class of licence. This portal will also allow you to consult licence plates and registration documents, replace a plate or order a personalised one, and see if a vehicle can be registered.

Other convenient services include getting a vehicle’s ownership history, discarding it, storing it or licensing it for road use, as well as making an ownership transfer or getting a winter tire exemption certificate.

In addition, drivers will be able to view their driving record (demerit points, fines, infractions, etc.) and see information related to their state of health (medical information self-declaration, medical record transmission, etc.).

Of course, SAAQclic wasn’t created only for drivers. Dealers, fleets, vehicle inspection agents and all other partners who want to exchange data with the SAAQ will have access to it.

Important Reminders From the SAAQ

The SAAQ recommends that motorists who need to renew their driver’s licence or vehicle registration always make their payments via their financial institution online services.

To avoid overloading their phone system and their service points, it's also a good idea to consult their service hours on their website before calling them or showing up.
