Sony Delays Gran Turismo 5... Again

For a lot of sports car fans operating on minivan budgets, video games offer a blessed relief from the mediocrity occupying their driveway, and few of these games have as big a following as Gran Turismo. Sony’s biggest Playstation racing title, the franchise had been wildly popular prior to the announcement of Gran Turismo 5. First set to debut last fall after years of development, the game was delayed with early indicators seeming to support a March 2010 release.

But, it would appear that fans will have to wait just a wee bit longer still. In an interview, Sony executive James Armstrong expressed Sony’s hope to have the game in stores by Christmas. Crediting this, the third delay, on Polyphony and Sony’s desire to provide a product of the best possible quality, many critics are now wondering if the game will ever see the light of day.
