Pre-Owned Nissan Z: How Much Should You Pay?

As you might already know, a brand-new generation of the Nissan Z is hitting the market for model year 2023, featuring a 400-horsepower twin-turbo V6 and a design inspired by its ancestors. But some people say that the substantial price increase is a problem.

If a naturally aspirated V6 with 330 horsepower or less is enough for you, a pre-owned specimen of the Japanese sport coupe could be a good deal, but what’s the market like for the Z these days? Let’s take a look …

Right off the bat, you must know that fifth-generation 350Zs are getting rare pretty much everywhere, including on Otogo.ca. That’s normal since the model was abandoned at the end of model year 2008. The ones you can find generally range between $15,000 and $20,000. Even though they have a dozen years or more behind them, their mileage is often reasonably low.

Regarding the sixth generation, called 370Z and sold between 2009 and 2020, expect to spend at least $22,000 and up to $50,000, or even $55,000 for newer models, especially for the NISMO performance version. Luckily, their mileage rarely exceeds 100,000 km.

By the way, a brand-new Nissan 370Z was selling for $30,000 to $56,000 the year before it was retired. If you wish to stay under that price range, the best offer we’ve seen was a 2016 manual 370Z with 65,000 km for $29,999.

Otherwise, it’s possible to get your hands on a 2020 model with less than 30,000 km for under $35,000, but going for a certified pre-owned example is always a safer bet. Also, make sure it’s been inspected thoroughly, because the former owner might have pushed it a little too hard on the track.

Happy shopping!
