2023 Mitsubishi Outlander Gets Higher Price, Bigger Rebates

In case you missed our first impressions of the all-new 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV following a late September test drive, you should stop whatever you’re doing now and click on that link. For pricing details, we have you covered right here.

As a quick refresher, Mitsubishi’s compact plug-in hybrid SUV gets more power, a more advanced Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) system and much longer EV range than the previous generation (61 km). Styling is completely revised and three-row seating is now offered as standard.

When it goes on sale in Canada next month, the 2023 Outlander PHEV will carry a base MSRP of $46,538, an increase of more than $2,000 from the 2022 model. However, it will now qualify for a federal rebate of $5,000 (since pure EV range now exceeds 50 km) and provincial incentives of up to $5,000 (including in Quebec).

The base ES S-AWC model features 18-inch wheels, a 12.3-inch TFT digital driver display, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as several advanced driver assistance technologies including Blind Spot Warning, Forward Collision Mitigation, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning and Reverse Emergency Braking.

Next up is the LE S-AWC at $51,238, which adds a panoramic sunroof, tri-zone climate control, nine-inch centre display with embedded navigation, power liftgate, 360-degree camera, heated steering wheel, power driver seat and a 24-month trial subscription to Mitsubishi Connect telematics service.

At mid-range, the SEL S-AWC model costs $54,048. This one boasts 20-inch wheels, quilted leather-appointed seats with position memory for the driver, second-row heated seats, rain-sensing windshield wipers and more.

Finally, the top-line GT S-AWC models start at $56,348, which is over $4,000 more expensive than last year. They are available with a two-tone exterior (black roof) and Premium package for a slight extra. You’ll see advanced semi-autonomous features like Mi-Pilot Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, a 10.8-inch head-up display, wireless phone charger and Bose Premium sound system. The Premium package includes two-tone semi-aniline leather seats and, for the first time, front-seat massage function.

The 2023 Outlander PHEV makes a convincing case in the plug-in hybrid SUV segment, and don’t forget Mitsubishi’s excellent 5-year/100,000-km comprehensive warranty combined with a 10-year/160,000-km powertrain and battery limited warranty.
