Land Rover Defender 75th Limited Edition Celebrates Iconic Series I

Three-quarters of a century after the debut of the Land Rover Series I at the 1948 Amsterdam Motor Show, the storied British SUV maker is celebrating its heritage with a 75th Limited Edition of the Defender.

This model joins the 30th Anniversary Edition that we saw in May. Sadly, the latter won’t be available to Canadian customers.

“Since revealing the new Defender, customers around the globe have fallen in love with it and demand remains extremely strong,” said Stuart Frith, Lifecycle Chief Engineer for the Defender. “This new Limited Edition captures the spirit of the past 75 years, with its colour and detailing, and fuses it with innovative new technology such as Mild Hybrid Electric power, Configurable Terrain Response, software over-the-air updates and unrivalled all-terrain capability.”

Offered in short-wheelbase 90 and long-wheelbase 110 configurations, the new Defender 75th Limited Edition definitely won’t go unnoticed thanks to an exclusive Grasmere Green body with matching 20-inch wheels. Black accents and Ceres Grey bumpers provide contrast, while a “75 Years” graphic adorns the rear hatch.

The interior has received a similar treatment, with the Cross Car Beam finished in brushed Grasmere Green Powder Coat and laser-etched detailing on Cross Car Beam end caps. The seats are finished in Resist Ebony, with the veneer on the centre console featuring Robustec material, the most robust fabric available on the Defender.

All units are equipped with a 3D Surround Camera, Meridian sound system, premium LED front lighting, 11.4-inch Pivi Pro infotainment system, head-up display and wireless charging for smartphones. Let’s not forget the folding fabric roof and 14-way power-adjustable front seats with memory.

The only engine available under the hood of this model is the 3.0-litre six-cylinder with mild hybrid technology, which delivers 395 horsepower.

In Canada, the 2023 Land Rover Defender 75th Limited Edition starts at $105,000 for the 90 and $108,000 for the 110. As part of the launch, the company is also offering Grasmere Green accessories including a watch, backpack and clothing.
