2009 Honda S2000 CR With 200 km Just Sold for $255,000

The Honda S2000 continues to enjoy cult status and some fans are willing to pay a whole lot of money for low-mileage units.

Case in point: this 2009 S2000 CR (Club Racer) owned by IndyCar driver Graham Rahal and driven for just under 200 kilometres was recently sold for an incredible $200,000 USD, or approximately $255,000 CAD, via Bring a Trailer.

Oh sure, the S2000 CR has gained significant value in the past few years, but that is nearly double the prices we’re used to seeing.

As many enthusiasts know, getting your hands on a Honda S2000—regardless of the model—in such pristine condition is extremely hard. By the way, only 699 Club Racers were sold in the U.S. over a two-year period. And this one belonged to a renowned driver.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or damage. You won’t find any signs of wear on the car, either. The Rio Yellow Pearl paint and 17-inch wheels are immaculate.

The interior features racing seats upholstered in black Alcantara with yellow inserts and stitching, the latter of which is also found on the steering wheel, shift boot and door panels.

Other highlights include a removable hard top in place of the conventional soft top, Club Racer rear wing, extended front splitter, Bridgestone Potenza RE070 tires and stiffer suspension. Also, weight is reduced by 41 kilograms (90 pounds) versus a standard S2000.

As for the 2.2-litre four-cylinder engine under the hood, it is completely stock with the same 237 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
