Ram Unveils Its Most Expensive Pickup Ever

Ram today unveiled three special editions of the popular Ram 1500 (as if there weren’t enough already) at the annual State Fair of Texas. Two of them will go on sale in Canada including one that is the most expensive and exclusive pickup ever offered by the brand.
We’re talking about the 2022 Ram 1500 TRX Ignition Edition, which is priced from $125,075 (plus $2,795 destination and handling). Canadian buyers will have to act quickly since there will only be 100 units available.

As the name implies, this model is based on the mega-powerful and loud Ram 1500 TRX, whose 6.2-litre supercharged HEMI V8 engine delivers 702 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. The TRX Level 2 Equipment Group, which includes nearly 40 optional features, is also part of the package.

The bright Ignition Orange body is unique in the Ram lineup—and more head-turning than the Ford F-150 Raptor’s Code Orange. There are special graphics on the bedsides and numerous black accents providing contrast. Other exterior features include 18-inch machine-face black wheels and a panoramic sunroof.

Inside, the TRX Ignition Edition includes Copperhead Orange stitching and an embroidered “TRX” seat back logo, copper carbon fibre accents, orange centre console badge and orange Ram’s head logo on the slush mats. Naturally, the driver’s screen features a TRX in Ignition Orange.

Is it worth spending the extra money? You decide. A regular 2022 Ram 1500 TRX starts at $101,395.

“Ram customers demand even more and our new models deliver that with a selection of exterior and interior appointments and content for even greater personalization,” said Mike Koval Jr., CEO of the Ram brand.

The other special edition that was unveiled today and is headed to Canada is the Ram 1500 (RAM)RED. The Ram, Jeep and Fiat brands have committed a minimum of $4 million USD to the Global Fund between 2021-2023 to help fight health emergencies with (RED).

The truck is available on Limited Crew Cab configurations, in a choice of both V8 engines or EcoDiesel. It features red R-A-M grille and door badging. A (RED) badge is also found on the centre console lid.
