Porsche, Dodge, Ram Lead Most Appealing Car Brands in 2021

So, which car companies make the most appealing and desirable products at the moment? Your picks are as good as ours. But if you ask J.D. Power, they’ll tell you Porsche, Dodge and Ram are in the top 3.

Its latest APEAL Study (Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout) is based on responses from over 110,000 owners of new 2021 model-year vehicles who were surveyed after 90 days of ownership. It measures their emotional attachment and level of excitement with their new vehicle across 37 attributes, ranging from the sense of comfort and luxury they feel when climbing into the driver’s seat to the feeling they get when they step on the accelerator.

Although premium brands still outscore mass-market brands, the gap continues to narrow, J.D. Power notes. Dodge (882 on a 1,000-point scale) and Ram (881) lead the second group for the third straight year. What’s more, the maker of the Challenger, Charger and Durango equals the score for Porsche, which once again ranks first among luxury brands.

Interestingly, Tesla (893) would have been No.1 overall, but it failed to meet all of the eligibility criteria.
