Superformance's Gorgeous New '63 Corvette Grand Sport

If you’re a Ford fanatic, you’ve plenty of options to pursue when it comes to procuring your dream car, whatever it may be. From all-steel Mustang bodies produced from the original stampings to the dominating GT40 to the ever-present Shelby Cobra, there are tons of companies dedicated to producing a modern iteration of your favourite car. Pay a few grand for a big box of parts, pick a drivetrain, and next thing you know, you’re cruising the boulevard in a 0-mile version of something that hasn’t been produced since the 60s.

But, Chevy fans haven’t had that luxury. Oh sure, there’s plenty of new 67-69 Camaro bodies floating around, but the reality is that Chevrolet’s best-loved motorsports models simply haven’t been available in kit car format until now. Thanks to Superformance (producers of some of the highest quality Cobra and GT40 kits) Chevy fans can live the dream with their very own version of the 1963 Corvette Grand Sport. Created with the express purpose of beating the Cobras at their own game, the Grand Sport proved itself on the track with a career spanning four years.
Never completely supported by General Motors, the program was the top-secret brainchild of Zora Duntov before being cancelled in its infancy by GM’s brass. Superformance has procured the original blueprints for the Grand Sport, and is now producing the car as a kit that’s available in both coupe and convertible forms. Engine options are obviously plentiful, with the supplied chassis accepting any number of GM Performance Parts drivetrains. The car will be available in both race and road ready variations.
