Lamborghini to Resurrect Iconic Countach

Lamborghini has announced via Twitter that it will resurrect the legendary Countach—or at least the name. And no, it’s not a joke.

“We make dreams come true. We did it with the classic Countach in the 1970s. And we’re doing it again. The new Lamborghini Countach is coming,” the tweet reads.

There’s also a short video as you can see below:

Neither this clip nor the picture up top provide any kind of look at the car, but it appears Lamborghini will draw inspiration from the past while trying to attract a new generation of fans, as hinted by original Countach posters pinned up to a kid’s room in the video.

Some great engine noises can be heard at one point, suggesting that the new Countach will not be fully electric. Meanwhile, the vehicle hidden under the cover clearly has the silhouette of a car and not a crossover like the Urus.

We believe it could be the upcoming V12-powered hybrid supercar Lamborghini is working on. No reveal date is announced, but we wouldn’t be surprised if the new model breaks cover before the end of the year. Stay tuned.
