2022 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe Adds Style, Special Edition

The Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe returns for the 2022 model year with a series of cosmetic changes and other upgrades bringing even more style and substance to the handsome and powerful grand tourer. It will land in Canadian showrooms this fall.

For starters, there are three new exterior colours for all models: spectral blue metallic, spectral blue magno (matte finish) and cashmere white magno (matte finish). A total of five matte finishes, five metallic shades and two solid colours are now available.

What’s more, customers have an even wider choice of AMG wheels. These include new 20-inch light-alloy wheels in a 10-twin-spoke design. Also new is the combination of Night Package and Carbon Fibre Package.

More Style Inside, Too

Inside the 2022 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe, you’ll find more personalization options—for example the new combination of Exclusive Nappa leather in titanium grey pearl/black with contrasting topstitching in yellow, or Exclusive Nappa leather in truffle brown/black in the STYLE finish (diamond stitching).

In addition to the popular two-tone seats, five more colours in Exclusive Nappa leather STYLE expand the interior portfolio—sienna brown, classic red, yacht blue, deep white and neva grey. This is complemented by new, optional anthracite open-pore wood for the instrument panel, door panels and centre console.

Another highlight is the newly designed, flat-bottom AMG Performance steering wheel with revised controls. It includes a sensor mat so if the driver does not have their hands on the steering wheel for a certain time, a warning cascade is started. Ultimately, Emergency Brake Assist will step in if the driver remains inactive. You should also know that the paddle shifters for the nine-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT transmission are now slightly bigger and positioned further down for even more precise shift commands.

Special Edition

An exclusive Edition model joins the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe lineup for 2022. Available only on the GT 53 4MATIC+, this is the first time the V8 Styling Package will be available in Canada. The exclusive paintwork in dark rubellite red harmonizes with the Exterior Package in high-gloss chrome, as well as the new 21-inch, five-twin-spoke AMG forged wheels painted in a high-gloss silver finish.

The interior features new neva grey Exclusive Nappa leather trim with the AMG Performance steering wheel finished in neva grey/black Nappa leather to match. New open-pore wood trim in grey ash, door sill panels illuminated in the vehicle colour and the AMG Edition badge on the instrument panel provide extra uniqueness.

More Confort and Sportiness

The GT 4-Door Coupe’s AMG RIDE CONTROL+ air suspension incorporates a completely new, electronically controlled adjustable damping system. For the first time, two pressure-limiting valves are used, allowing the damping force to be adjusted more precisely to different road and driving conditions.

According to Mercedes-Benz, this technology delivers an even smoother ride on the one hand (in Comfort mode) and makes driving dynamics even sportier on the other hand (Sport+ mode). In addition, the tuning can be adjusted in three stages independently of the drive modes via a dedicated button.
