The New 2021 Ford GT Heritage Edition Is Breathtaking

It was during a virtually held Petersen Car Week that Ford unveiled the newest iteration of the Ford GT Heritage. And this one pays tribute to the 1966 Daytona 24 Hours race-winning GT40.

This is the first time a Heritage Ford GT gets its inspiration from a GT40 that took part in a race outside of Le Mans. It was during this event that Ferrari's dominance was threatened for the first time, as drivers Ken Miles and Lloyd Ruby raced 50 kilometres ahead of the pack.

The 2021 Ford GT Heritage Edition is painted in beautiful Frozen White and wears red racing stripes. The body features asymmetrically positioned carbon fibre accents that replicate the 1966 model. Other particularities include the period-correct number 98 on the doors and 20-inch forged aluminum wheels over red Brembo calipers.

Once on board, drivers are treated to black and red Alcantara on the steering wheel, the headliner and the seats.

The 2021 Ford GT Heritage Edition is powered by the same 660-horsepower 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine as all Ford GTs.

Enter the Ford GT Studio Collection

Acquiring an example of a Ford GT that is produced in just 250 units per year sometimes isn’t enough for the most demanding customers, so Ford added the ability to customize the GT thanks to the Studio Collection package.

Only 40 units will receive this bespoke treatment during 2021 and 2022, the last two production years of the American supercar.

These 40 units can be painted in the colour of the customer's choice, along with custom-made signature racing stripes.
