Here’s When the 2021 Ford Bronco Will Finally Debut

UPDATE: Ford has now moved the debut to July 13 to avoid any association with O.J. Simpson. Below is the original story.

The highly anticipated 2021 Ford Bronco was initially supposed to be unveiled in April at the New York Auto Show, but as you know the coronavirus changed everything. So, when will we get to see it at last?

In an Instagram post yesterday, Ford confirmed that the new Bronco will debut on July 9 with the tag line “The Wild Returns.”

By the way, that date happens to be the birthday of O.J. Simpson, who infamously tried to flee police behind the wheel of an old Ford Bronco, but we have a hard time believing the company made that choice on purpose.

Here’s a quick refresher on the 2021 Ford Bronco. Similar to the Jeep Wrangler, it will be available with two or four doors, all of which can be removed just like the roof. Built on a shortened version of the Ranger pickup chassis, this rugged midsize SUV will offer a host of off-road equipment including all-terrain tires, underbody skid plates, tow hooks and a winch-ready front bumper.

A more urban-oriented variant called Bronco Sport will be part of the lineup, as well, sharing its platform and powertrains with the Escape. Will it be revealed at the same time? That we don’t know for sure yet.

It’s been previously reported that the 2021 Ford Bronco will hit the market about two months late, equal to the period of time the automaker’s North American plants were put on idle due to COVID-19.

We’ll have a ton of details and pictures for you on July 9, so mark your calendar!
