Future Nissan Z Teased in This Official Video

Did you know? A brand new generation of the Nissan Z is coming. Up until now, all we had were speculations and artist renderings, but now the Japanese automaker has posted a video announcing its future products and the redesigned sports coupe makes an appearance.

While the images are dark and shadowy, the new Z can be seen with a silhouette that represents a beautiful evolution of the current car.

The hood is noticeably longer and the headlights are completely redesigned, like a modern interpretation of the circular lights on the classic 240Z. It appears Nissan is searching for inspiration from the past; rumour has it the taillights will emulate those on the 300ZX.

Unfortunately, we still don’t know when the future Nissan Z will be officially revealed or what its exact name will be. All signs so far point to “400Z,” a nod to the new twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6 that would generate 400 horsepower. It’s the same engine found in the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport 400 and it would be a huge improvement over the 332 horsepower delivered by the naturally aspirated 3.7-litre V6 in the 370Z.

In addition to the Z, Nissan will introduce 11 more new models within the next 18 months, two of which will be the 2021 Rogue and the production version of the Ariya electric SUV concept.
