2020 New York Auto Show Pushed to August by Coronavirus

COVID-19 a.k.a. the coronavirus has claimed another victim. Ok, poor choice of words: no one is dead in this case.

The 2020 New York Auto Show will not take place in April as planned. Because the virus is starting to spread quickly across the state of New York, with several hundred people being infected as we speak, the organizers decided to push the event to the month of August.

As the culmination of the auto show season, more than 50 new models were supposed to be unveiled in a world or North American premiere. With the NAIAS in Detroit scheduled to run in June, what will manufacturers do? That's the big question now.

Earlier this month, the Swiss government cancelled the 2020 Geneva Auto Show as part of a preemptive strike against the epidemic.
